Scrum and Get me was a one-day flag rugby skills clinic for girls aged 10-13. Focusing on the fundamentals and teaching girls the basic skills of rugby.
Scrum and Get Me was a great success. With over 25 girls and 20 volunteers, the rugby community really stepped up to help make this event happen. It was in no way perfect, but it is safe to say that the participants had a great time. A survey went out and over 75% said that they would try rugby again, which is a great number. This is a great step in the right direction of growing the sport we all love.A special thank you to Hayleigh Bell who provided cupcakes for everyone, Meagan McManus who’s teacher skills helped corral the girls, and to Jamie Cole who recruited Megan Couto and Victoria Gilby who were lovely enough to travel in from Brandon to help us out.
Thanks so much ladies it was much appreciated.
To all the other volunteers, you guys helped out so much and really eased my mind. To the ladies from the Assassins, thanks for being there for me.
Here’s to a great season and an epic 50th anniversary for our club.
